Storehouse Food Bank is a project that aims to support families, couples and individuals in short term need of food and toiletries. West Wilts Vineyard began this service in 2006 as a response to a growing need for support within our community. They have developed good working relationships with a range of local agencies and services aiming to support the wider community.

In April 2010, the food bank opened a referral centre and to date has fed over 2300 people. Based on these figures it is projected that over a yearly period the service will provide approximately 4,200 meals. People who are in need of our support have found themselves in difficult circumstances often through no fault of their own. They may have been made redundant or have lost work through severe illness. Some service users are attempting to rebuild their life after the breakdown of a marriage or partnership or they could be recovering from a situation of domestic violence. It is a practical ministry that meets the basic commandment given by Jesus to love our neighbour and care for the poor.

Sue volunteered in Storehouse twice a week for a couple of years.

We collect food each week at Bethesda to support the work of Storehouse. Robin will take any collected food to Storehouse each week. At Christmas we aim to fill some hampers to add to the Storehouse Christmas Appeal.
