A group of enthusiastic ‘actors’ from St James Church, Wesley Road Methodist Church and Bethesda go into six local schools to read and act out a story from the Bible.

Each of the schools is visited four times a term and we aim to take the children through the major stories in the Bible by the time they leave Primary school.

We introduce the story using Bob Hartman’s book ‘The Lion Storyteller Bible,’ read and act it out, talk about an aspect of the story, invite the children to join in a prayer if they wish and then sing a Christian action song with the children.

We enjoy dressing up and using different ideas and props to make the stories lively and visual for the children. These photos show how we portrayed Goliath, one of the lions from the story of Daniel and Jesus with Peter holding up the miraculous catch of fish.
