Our musicians and sound crew arrive early to practice and set everything ready for us to start at 10.30.
We have a small carpark which usually gets packed out even though a few of us walk to church.
We tend to dress in casual clothes.
Meetings are varied but usually include contemporary praise and worship, prayer and a message.
The message may be a talk, or it may involve discussion, working together in groups and occasionally it may include drama, video clips and PowerPoint presentations.
Twice a month we take Communion together during the meeting.
We want our children to be involved in the service and we usually have an 'all age message.' This may be telling a story to the youngsters, acting out a story or colouring in specific pictures. Children wave flags and use musical instruments to join in with the worship. Later the youngsters have their own lively and varied meeting. We also encourage the young people to be part of a team. Some are part of the worship team while others help with the projection of words or the sound system.
After the meeting (usually finishing between 12 and 12.20) we enjoy biscuits, cups of tea or coffee and lots of ‘catching up chat’ together.
We enjoy having a shared lunch together to celebrate special occasions but we also try to have a shared 'simple' lunch together once a month. This may be soup and a roll or a hot dog and it's a valuable time when we can enjoy chatting together (and eating.)
