The Bethesda family spans from ages 0 to 80+. Although a Baptist Church, affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain, we are a worshipping people who come from different backgrounds and experiences. Together, we have a strong belief that, as His church, God has called us to fulfil His commands by: wholeheartedly loving Him; loving and serving our neighbour in word and deed; introducing people to Jesus; and becoming more like Him through committed discipleship.

Our logo, 'Church without Walls', reflects our determination not only to be ‘Bible-based’ but to be open to the moving of the Holy Spirit within our people, particularly as He motivates us to: actively work with the churches around us in Trowbridge; engage with our community sharing the love of Jesus; and ‘make disciples’ in His name.

We have a committed leadership team but everyone is strongly encouraged to be active in ministry not only within the congregation but also in pioneering fresh expressions of ‘church’ in Trowbridge and so, as a result, advance the purposes of the kingdom of God.

Over the last decade we have established good working links with several of the Trowbridge churches. This has meant that we see many of our 'outreach' events as representing 'Trowbridge Churches' rather than just Bethesda. We take an active role in CATA - Christian Action in the Trowbridge Area. This is a body that organises the 'launch' of joint projects in the area.

Bethesda has several healthy small groups. These meet in different locations on different days of the week. Groups may have different focuses throughout the year (teaching, praying, social etc) but the groups are always at the heart of our pastoral care.

We encourage Bethesda folk to join in with other activities such as the occasional Saturday evening 'Rise Up Church' or 'Rise Up Women' and the monthly men's prayer meeting and regular prayer breakfasts 'MenUnited.'

Out of the gifts and offerings that we receive we aim to give at least 10% (usually rising to nearly 20%) to Christian ministries. These include BMS, Tukums Church Latvia, Ugandaid, Tearfund (we are a 'connected' church with a project in Ogongora, Uganda)and local ministries as we see the need.
