Family Christmas

Bethesda looked its sparkling best over Christmas thanks to our wonderful decorating elves. The people who came in for the dementia friendly carol service enjoyed familiar carols, Newtown School choir, Singing for the Brain Group and of course mince pies and cups of tea afterwards.

The catering team put on a fabulous Christmas lunch and many of the family dressed up for the occasion.

The Christmas sparkle was continued with the youngsters performing first in the Nativity Play and then giving us musical treats.

The Candlelit carol service and Christmas Day service rounded off a busy few days.

Reverse Advent Calendar

We are hoping that lots of people will try our reverse advent calendar. The idea is to give an item of food or money each day for 24 days and then that will be given to Storehouse in January. It's a great way to enjoy and celebrate the giving side of Christmas.

Thinking and Praying For Others

A creative Sunday was enjoyed by people who made clay pots to hold their treasures, built strong structures, wrote poetry, made biscuits to give away, painted hand prayers, wrote prayers on pebbles, lit candles and prayed, wrote prayers for Newtown and gave thanks on a 'thanks' paper chain.

Street Pastors and Storehouse

On Sunday we had a great presentation from the Street Pastors. They told us about their ministry and the work they do on the streets of Trowbridge on a Saturday night. The Street Pastors team are always looking for new members of their group although some of the people who tried on the uniforms on Sunday may be a little too young at present - they did do a good job of handing out lollies to us all though!

We also collected food for Storehouse which was our way of saying thankyou for all the provision that we enjoy. We prayed that one day people will not need to visit a Storehouse for their provisions.

Visit of Tim Judson

As part of our series on 'The Big Picture of the Bible' we enjoyed the prophetic and challenging ministry of Tim Judson.
